The Association

The Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, originally founded as the Cornwall Agricultural Society in 1793, and a registered charity since 1926, owns over 200 acres and rents/leases approximately a further 30 acres.

The showground itself, covering some 95 acres, has been developed to provide a venue second to none for the annual Royal Cornwall Show and a host of other events.

The Royal Cornwall Show - the organisation of which is the main reason for the Association's existence - is today regarded as one of the last true major agricultural shows in the UK.

Regularly attracting well over 100,000 people (over 129,000 in 2008), the show has over 1000 trade stands, including huge areas for agricultural machinery and related displays, plus hundreds of competitive classes attracting the very best of British livestock and horses.

Add to this a flower show of national repute, an action-packed main arena, stage areas and specialist features such as the Countryside Area and the Steam Fair, and you have an event for all the family.

Although now well over 200 years old, the show is moving ever forward, with new features and exhibits every year. The show is also a place where real business is done.

Traditionally, deals for new machinery and other items were struck at the show and that is still true today. The list of trade exhibitors present and the sheer quality of the exhibits staged is undeniable proof of this.

Whether you are a visitor or an exhibitor, the Royal Cornwall Show is a must for your diary.
